Sounders Women take points from PACNW-OSA, face TSS Rovers for top spot

The Sounders Women hammered PACNW-OSA after a half time adjustment from head coach Scott Ford on June 30th at Starfire Sports Stadium.   With a 3-0 score line, the Sounders Women set up a title showdown with TSS Rovers on Saturday, July 7th to see who wins the WPSL NW Division title.   With a win or tie against TSS Rovers, the Sounders Women would claim the WPSL NW Division title for the third year in a row.

The fireworks started on Saturday with Nia Gordon streaking down the left flank and smashing home a goal in the 34th minute of play against PACNW-OSA.   Halftime would see the score 1-0 for the Sounders Women but the game lacked the fire coach Ford was looking for in his team.

After a half time locker room talk from Ford, Kai Henderson rocketed a shot into the net to make it 2-0 and the Sounders Women would never look back.  Kristen Pavlitsko hassled the back line all night and Celia Jimenez Delgado hammered home goal number 3 as Gordon blazed down the left flank again and cut the ball back with precision.  The game would end 3-0 and the Sounders Women are now in full control of the WPSL NW Division.

The TSS Rovers are sitting at 3-0-2 and must win against the Sounders Women Saturday or they will be eliminated from playoff contention.  With a win or tie, the Sounders Women are in.  If TSS Rovers beats the Sounders Women, they must then win again against PACNW-OSA in order to take the top spot.   The Sounders Women face the TSS Rovers at Sunset Stadium in Sumner, Washington at 7:30pm on Saturday, July 7th.
